The Boulder Theatre graces Fourteenth Street just off the brick-paved paths of the Downtown Boulder Mall. The theatre is adorned with a charming art-deco facade and its retro ambience never fails
to yank me back to preadolescent memories of Jujubes, pubescent bosoms, and sweaty palms in the balcony. In its various incarnations since being constructed as the Curran Opera House at the turn of the century, the
Boulder Theatre had been a legitimate theatre, a first-run movie house, and a third-run movie house. Lately it had been a music hall and, on occasion, a community theatre.
